Merciful Dossier

Hello all,

My name is Merciful Mise en Place. You may wonder where that name comes from and means, but I will get to that soon.

For now you can call me by my real name, Kate. I am 29 years young and live in Savannah, Georgia. I graduated from the Art Institute of Atlanta with a culinary arts degree. I have a great passion for cooking and love to help others. I am the chef and owner of a BBQ style food truck that travels all over the USA. My favorite food would be tacos. I love the movie Burnt and my favorite book is Paula Deen’s Southern Cooking Bible.

So my name… Mise en place is a french culinary term for, “putting in place” and that is exactly what I like to do. I save the day by helping those of us that do not know how to cook to save their lives. Merciful is from my personality of compassion. One definition of merciful is, “bringing someone relief from something unpleasant” and that is what I do with whom I help. I bring them relief from the unpleasant food they create. If someone has a date and wanted to make a home cooked meal for their special someone but couldn’t cook to save their life yet still want to impress this new person, I am the one to call. Is it your turn to host the family Thanksgiving and don’t want to ruin it, just hit me up. Somebody creating a food disgrace like putting pineapple on pizza, yea I will fix that real quick. My weakness is when people don’t put things back where they should be or when things are unorganized!

This came to me one day while working in the food truck. I had a food critic come by and review my food. He was a strange man… seemed dark and mysterious… but he loved my food. I turned around to grab something and he stabbed me with this sparkling fork. I felt something rush through my body and he handed me a brand new chef jacket. This was no ordinary jacket though. It was fire-retardant, water-proof, and cut-resistant. It is my prized possession. He told me that I must use my new power to save people from making cooking disasters. When I receive the call, I close up the food truck and speed on over. My power gives me the ability to be fast and have unlimited energy. This way I can get meals done in a jiffy and help out many people in a day and never get tired. I have to ability to use any kitchen equipment in the food truck to my advantage in a cooking disaster or when I run into my arch nemesis.

My enemy may come as a surprise to you. Her name is Betty Croc-ker.She isn’t just a sweet old lady. She is half old lady, half evil crocodile. She makes the almost ready, preservative filled, just add water products. These are a disgrace to real culinary chefs. To me, the best and only way to make great food is from scratch. She is always out on the streets dispersing her bags of pre-made powder products. We fight every time we run into each other.

One thing that is very important for my costume would be how I am sure to obey all ServSafe culinary rules. I have my clean jacket on, long plants, closed toe shoes, my hair up, gloves tucked away for when I need them. I carry hand sanitizer with me everywhere I go because you can never be too clean for when you cook.

If you are in ever in the need of help from a potential culinary disaster or you see someone disrespecting food hit me up on my mobile app (MEeP) to schedule your appointment. If it is a dire emergency, call me at 1-800-BAD-FOOD.
